It's Been A While.

So it's all been confirmed and my flight details have been sent, i'm off to Milan in February for Fashion Week! I'm more nervous than excited for now but I'm sure that will quickly change in time.

I apologise for the lack of blogging, i'm not much of a writer and my life REALLY isn't all that interesting so I am most likely to move over to tumblr very soon.

In the mean time here are a few photographs I did before Christmas that I quite enjoy. The main use of the photo's were for texture samples/sketchbook development but the end product was quite visually appealing as well. These were taken for Deborah Morgan as a way of displaying final textures without having to go through the expensive process of buying/dying/altering her final fabrics.

A bit late to hop onto the projection bandwagon... thanks to the Rihanna video for "We Found Love"... but I'm happy either way.

Trying to organise rolls of films and get back into the swing of things now i'm back to University. It's good to be back in a creative environment again!

E-Mail Stalking

Uhhh... you know that "Photo Of The Week" I got about a month back? Ends up I came first place... So uh, Milan Fashion Week? HIYA.
Although, I can neither confirm or deny this, I've received one e-mail from them asking to "confirm personal details to organise your Italian fashion experience" pretty sketchy, no? I've replied but I'm not gonna get my hopes up for Milan but WOOOOO, I never win anything so this is rad!
I am refreshing my e-mails like a madwoman in hopes of a reply. Fingers crossed!

Still Life

Relatively boring module at Uni, definitely prefer directing and collaborating with a model rather than talking to myself and throwing hissy fits at inanimate objects. Got some pretty nice photo's for my final shots, so i'm happy!
Each of our final shots had to have been influenced by certain photographers style and content, four locations for each of our four items.

Inspired by...
Nan Goldin

Martin Parr

Richard Billingham

I still have one more photographer to do but it involves putting all of my objects in ice so it's currently a work in progress... will post those later on.

As part of our Fashion Communication course we do a module called "Moving Image" aka, film making. In our brief we we're given a brand from Urban Outfitters to research and create a Fashion Film for.

I chose Lazy Oaf and I took most of my inspiration from their latest Look Book.

Moody looking models + food graphics + children's toys = fashion film.

The colour went a bit dark when I uploaded it onto Vimeo so you'll have to imagine it a bit brighter haha.
Can't really justify how this is a "Fashion" Film, but I'm happy with the end result either way :)

I've also been collaborating with a lovely 4th year for her final collection, check out her blog
Can't wait to post the pictures, eeeeee!

Sleepy Times

I am in the middle of my Still Life and Moving Image modules, I have so many photo's to take and a film to shoot. I am so BUSY. I also just found that my "Photo of the Week" on the Streets and People website will be published in their January Magazine Issue, how exciting! If anyone happens to be in the US after the New Year please pick me up a copy, it's about $60 to get it shipped here - waaaaaaaaa.

That's not very interesting for you all so here's a nice picture of my Mum and Dad when they were young lovers - cute!

The Perks Of Being A Wallflower

Hands-down my favourite book of ALL TIME.
So much so I got a tattoo of quite possibly, the best quote ever. I hate to admit this as well but it fuckinnggg hurt!
Totally simple, interpret it as you wish.

The book is being made into a film that will be released next year. Beyond excited/nervous to see it! If the movie doesn't do the book justice I will be so disappointed. Emma Watson and Logan Lerman have been cast for the main roles of Charlie and Sam and considering Emma Watson's current celebrity status it's probably going to be publicised preettyyy heavily. Let's hope it doesn't disappoint!

We're The Pretty Petty Thieves And You're Standing On Our Streets

A few favourites from my latest photo shoot for Uni, inspired by the lyrics in the blog title and influenced by the style of i-D Magazine.

I have narrowed it down from about 500 to 60 to 16 and now to these... I need to pick 8 and I still have a roll of film's worth of photographs to scan as well. I am going to be up all night trying to pick! HELP IS MUCH APPRECIATED!

Test Shots

Some pre-shoot make-up test shots.
Mucho love for my beautiful model Amy, an amazing MUA Sophie and mad love for heavy eyebrows.
